Last week Tuesday, on the public holiday, we set off to Canal Walk to do our gift registry. I chose Boardmans and the fiancé chose @Home. (Actually I chose Forever New, but apparently being registered there is inappropriate)
The day did not start off well. After going through the whole getting registered part at @Home we took to the rows of goodies with bewildered, not quite sure where to start enthusiasm. Only to find out the scanner was broken. Now I’ve been looking forward to this moment since I saw the first movie bride walking around a shop with black gun like scanner pointing excitedly at pretty things. So when they told me I would have to take a piece of paper and write down all the codes by hand I was seriously disappointed. So we discussed it with the registry lady and told her we would come back over the weekend. The fiancé was now starving and not in a particularly good mood so we took a lunch break.
Boardmans was a lot more successful as I finally got to walk around the shop clicking away at casserole’s all bride-to-be like. It actually went quite quick, except for the 15 minutes it took me to convince the fiancé that the fancy crystal wine glasses were a must. I mean how am I suppose to host an elegant dinner party without them. (Although at this stage our friends are more ‘let’s have a braai’ than ‘Oh wow what a lovely sit down dinner you’ve prepared’)

Hope you have better luck next time! At least it is one shop down though...
ReplyDeleteCrystal glasses are a must of course! ;)
ReplyDeleteLols at Forever New! Now that would make for a rad registery.
ReplyDeleteMissing your regular posts. Hope all is okay in your world.
