Remember me!
Happy New Year all! Yes I am seriously late, but a lack of internet cap will do that to you!
Every New Year’s I’d say “this is going to be MY year” but it’s never quite happened, but I can truly say that 2011 was in fact my year. It was crazy, mad, stressful, exciting, filled with highs, and well, just, perfect.
First there was the getting engaged on Christmas day 2010, and so the mad ride called planning a wedding started. In between there was some Coldplay, Kings of Leon, Knox’s first birthday, the most amazing bachelorette, kitchen tea and finally the big wedding. I wore the gorgeous dress, I had the pretty make up and I got the dance till you drop party I always hoped for, and now I’ve got a bag full of memories that will last me a lifetime. (There were also many tears and stressful decision making throughout the year, which I will not miss)
Unfortunately the husband had to get back to work asap so we went on a very quick but amazing mini Honeymoon in Plettenberg Bay. We spent time at the beach, had seafood AND went to the elephant park where I got to feed and walk with the big dudes. It was such an awesome experience. And then the post wedding blues hit me. And it hit me hard. Everyday I’d fixate on something new. I had so many shoulda moment. I should have worn a flower wreath as planned , I should have relaxed more during the photo shoot, I should have spent more time with my parents throughout the night. Thoughts like this drove me insane and were kind of ruining what was actually a perfect night. And it really was perfect. But I’ve always been an over thinker, over analyser, so I was expecting this to happen. So from now on I’m going to try be more of a live in the moment no regrets kind of a person.
Even though 2011 was a major high and will be pretty hard to beat, I am looking forward to 2012 and the new chapter. I definitely plan on being the most awesomest wife possible.
